Gadgebaba Gorakshan, Daryapur

In the rural area of Mahuli (Dhande), located in Daryapur Taluka of Amravati District, Maharashtra, a Gorakshan Sansthan was established in 2018 with the noble and selfless objective of serving cows. The organization was founded by Prof. Gajanan Ramkrishna Bharsakle, who serves as the Director. The organization has been registered as per government regulations and is officially recognized under the name Gadge Baba Gorakshan Charitable Trust, Mahuli (Dhande) with Registration Number E-1356 (AMT), granted by the Amravati Divisional Charity Commissioner’s Office.

This cow shelter accepts cows from farmers or families across the country who are unable to care for them due to personal or unavoidable circumstances, without charging any fee. The cows are cared for at the shelter until the end of their natural lives. Various types of research are conducted at this facility, and environmentally beneficial projects are implemented, including the production of organic manure, cow dung-based fuel (cow dung cakes), and cow urine-based products for societal benefit.

In 2025, the organization was also registered with the Maharashtra State Cow Service Commission under the registration number MHGA/0253/AM. On average, the shelter accommodates over a hundred indigenous cows throughout the year. The efforts are greatly supported by contributions from generous donors in the community.

Cows and calves sent by the police department are also accepted and cared for at this shelter. The management of all these operations is overseen with great enthusiasm and dedication by an executive committee consisting of eleven trustees of the trust.
